Severe Performance Issues with Category Pages and Pagination

    Dear Akira Theme Support Team,

We are experiencing significant performance issues after installing your theme and importing several thousand products along with approximately 200 categories. Specifically:

    1. When opening a category page for the first time, the server response is extremely slow, often taking tens of seconds.
    2. The same issue occurs when navigating through product pagination.
    3. However, once the page or pagination is loaded for the first time, the problem does not reoccur.

We found a similar issue reported in this ticket, where your response mentioned the role of caching. This has raised additional questions:

    1. After clearing the cache and forcing a recompile, the problem does not reappear as expected. Why is this? Where are the compiled files stored?
    2. If a new product is added to a category, will the system need to recompile the page again?
    3. Why does this issue only occur with your theme? With the default theme or other themes, this does not happen. Is it possible to disable this functionality? Even when disabling cache, the problem persists.

This behavior is a critical issue for us and is leading us to consider switching to another theme.

Thank you for your assistance. We look forward to your insights and guidance on resolving this matter.

    Best regards, Edoardo

Thank you very much for contact us!

This problem occurs even with Prestashop default. You can try by installing Prestashop by default without loading the front page. Import a large number of products via Backoffice, configure to display 12-15 products for the category page. Turn on CCC, you will have a long first page load time for the category or product page.

When you have not loaded the page any time, the first time will initialize and run PHP, mySQL functions, create cache file. After this first time, PHP cache, mySQL cache has been initialized. For cache file, you can delete and recreate for the next time with faster loading speed because there is already PHP and SQL cache.

For other themes, they do not use separate module and layout systems located on separate tpl files different from the default Prestashop, but only edit the Prestashop file and reuse the previous cache of Classic theme.

Once you have created the cache for the first time, you will not need to worry anymore. To avoid the first cache taking too much time, you can also edit the hosting configuration to be able to use 100% of the resources. Then reset the configuration to avoid overload when opening an online store for many customers at the same time.

    Best regards,
