I have installed the theme, but if I click on a category with multiple pages it takes more than a minute to go from page 1 to page x. Once it's cached it gets fast, but that's not okay. If I turn off the theme and use the basic theme it's super fast.

For the CCC system, you need to wait for the first download for the system to create the cache file, then all other customers will not need to wait but can immediately use the cache file. The default system contains fewer files, once the theme is installed, the initial cache creation process will take longer.
This is also a limitation of the CCC system from Prestashop.
You need to load the category and product pages once to create a cache after enabling CCC to make sure your customers don't have to wait for the first view.
